Triops Reedfisht/Peacock eel Compatability

I know these aren't necessarily the most conventional inverts, but I had some Triops (Probably Triops cancriformis)when I was a kid and loved them, and have been thinking about adding them to my new 35g sparsely planted aquarium. The kicker is I've been thinking of adding a reedfish (AKA ropefish) or a Peacock spiny eel to my tank. Those two I know are pretty carnivorous and smaller inverts will perish in the same tank, but does that apply to Triops? Doing some research cancriformis reach about 4 inches maximum.

If I do get some it will most likely be Triops newberryi

If those wouldn't work what other eel like fish might?

The other fish I have right now are a pearl gourami and a bushynose pleco.

Thank you in advance!

My name says it all

They'll definitely eat/kill your Triops. Not something I'd want to mix together.

I can't imagine keeping them with any fish or in any tank with a hardscape I liked. Triops are messy, they prey on each other, they'll eat other invertebrates, fish, even plants. I think they're best kept in a container on their own. Maybe with a bit of sand, some plants that aren't permanent or expensive, lots of leaf litter.

Triops eat fish? I've never seen any cases of that happening, and I see a lot of videos of people that keep triops with fish, and even in planted tanks.

Sadly, yes. They'll eat each other and pretty much anything they come across that seems tasty. I've had them feast on Endlers on several occasions. Endlers are fast, sneaky little suckers, too. So they're quite capable of hunting.

Another thing to consider with Triops is egg collection. Difficult to impossible to find them in a typical planted tank. Much easier in a Triops-specific setup that you can drain easily.

Regardless, you should definitely figure out a way to keep them. They're tons of fun.
