Snails, want the MTS, not the ramshorn

Both my tanks have both snails. I want the Malaysian trumpet snails to turn over the sand. The problem is the ramshorn. The problem with them is they’re faster to the food than the cities, and the fry tank, well I have to get enough food in there for the fry. Manual culling is time consuming, and kills my back lol.

Would assasin snails eat more ramshorn because they don’t hide like mts, or would they go after whatever is closest?

I have tried luring them with food and collecting, but you know life and kids. I get busy and lose track of time and the snails have all dispersed!

Manual removal by luring them to food is your easiest and quickest option. Drop in food, pick up the pile of snails after 10-20min, give them to other hobbyists.

Assassins won't discriminate. And once they run out of prey, they'll often turn on shrimp or other livestock if given the opportunity. They'll require supplemental feeding if there's not enough of a food source in the tank to support them.

They do make snail traps that you bait with food that will hold them until life gives you the time. I just did a quick ebay search and there were tons under $5.

Yep - plenty of DIY traps that are easily put together, as well. Some of the water bottle traps work really well.
