nuisance snails

Don't know which ones I have, but they are often all over the glass. I thought I would get an assassin snail, but the minute I put him in the acclimation tank he went after my nerites! So he is now donated.
I am now taking my tank tweezers and pinching every one I find on the glass and letting them fall to substrate. Is this a bad idea? It seems to be really having an effect on the snail population and the fish and shrimp all seem to like picking at them, maybe a food bonus?!

Fish+Plants thanks you!!

Have you done any reading here on the forum about snails? Encourage you to do so. You'll find that they can be quite beneficial in a planted tank.
