20 Gallon Planted Shrimp Tank

Hey all,

I'm new here. I've been out of the aquarium game for 6 years or so, but I got the itch and I set up my old 20L with a bunch of plants and plan to keep a colony of blue dream neocaridinia shrimp if I can ever get the stupid tank to cycle. I'll post pictures here to track my progress with plant growth and once I actually get my shrimp. I'm only 2.5 weeks into the cycle and the waiting is really tough, but I gotta do right by my shrimp.

Thanks. Substrate is Eco Complete. I've read some stuff about it sometimes raising pH, but I haven't had any issues with that and I successfully kept a shrimp and guppy planted tank with it for years a while back.

Should be fine! The only questions is if your parameters are suitable for shrimp once the tank is cycled, including GH and KH. If so, you'll probably have good success as long as you can source some "home bred" juvies for the tank!

Yep, I think I'm solid. pH has stabilized at 7.5, GH=6.7 and KH= 3.7
I check every few days and GH/KH have been stable throughout the process. I think my parameters should be reasonable for Neocaridinas. Now my Nitrifying bacteria just need to step up their game so I can get this thing rolling.
