Unhappy Unexplained invert death, but only in one tank

What could possibly cause one of my three tanks to be fatal to shrimp? I keep Amanos and Nerites in two of my 10 gallon tanks successfully, but in my 20 gallon, they die almost immediately. I've bought from different batches, monitored my water parameters twice daily in case of quick spikes, and haven't changed stocking at all. I absolutely cannot figure it out. Tank is fully cycled, set up for several months, fishless cycled, and then had residents added.

The only difference between my tanks is that the 20 gallon has Caribsea supernaturals black sand, and the two 10's have cheap natural gravel from petco. Can someone please help me solve this mystery?

Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate: <5ppm (moderately planted)
PH: 7.3

Is the 20g a new or used tank?

Was the tank ever treated with meds?
