Fancy Tigers are really F1 or F2?

Hi
I have question about fancy tigers, are they really hybrid F2? If fancy tigers are hybrids of CRS and tigers and if they're only F1 there is a big chance they wont breed true, meaning You'll get mix offpsring of tigers, crs and fancys,

You would have to continue to selectively breed them, regardless of generation. After all, they are hybrids. There's been so much crossing going on, you can never be 100% sure what you are getting anyways. Take Taiwan bees for example, many carry the pinto gene and it can be seen after several generations. As for the "fancy tiger", breeders just cull out the ones that look like crs/cbs and sell the ones that have the striping that people desire. You would need to do the same. Eventually you'll want to introduce "fresh" traits to your colony to maintain hybrid vigor. Consistency becomes even harder at that point. I would recommend keeping the hybrids separated from crystals if you want a higher percentage of that tiger striping.

Thank You, so there's even a chance to get a regular blonde tiger (or tangerine) and regular crs from the offspring. I've always wondered how fancy tigers prefer soft water, when tigers doing much better in neutral or harder water like neos
