New update: No issues to report, aside from a note that cories stir up a bit of a cloud when they hit a pocket of dirt. It settles back down pretty quickly, though, and the cories seem to love it. As long as you don't need crystal-clear water, it's not a problem, and a reasonably thick sand cap would fix that issue. Albino cory just found an area with approximately no sand.
On another note, cories very much love clay, sand, and leaf litter.
