Tank Break Down

I think I'm going to break down my tank and redo it. I hate my jungle val, it just spreads too quick and in all honesty sucks if you want a nice looking tank.

Since I'm going to do this, the roots are so thick on these things, it's going to pull up all my dirt and I might as well just redo my tank.

I want to redo the substrate, I want to get away from dirt. What is a good substrate that's not going to mess with my PH. I want a substrate that will allow me to have a carpet. I really like the look of ada aquasoil, but I dont like the ph buffering.

What's a good substrate to use?
