Hi @Funken_A and @Jardiamj,

Welcome to TPT!

If you haven't had the opportunity check out the Greater Seattle Aquarium Society (GSAS.org) the local freshwater club in Seattle for Washington residents. We have great meetings with local, national, and international speakers including plant explorer/author Christal Kasselmann; our library contains her book as well as a DVD of her presentation for members to check out. In fact, we have a very extensive video library (Streaming and DVD) for our members who miss a meeting or live in Eastern WA.

This month we have our annual Home Show presentation where our video crew and judges visit GSAS members homes and video their tanks....here what last years Home Show looked like and here is a preview of our upcoming show this month..

On Saturday April 22nd we have our big auction with equipment, plants, and fish......it is a huge event with about 150 folks and over 800 items sold. Our monthly auctions after of meetings and the big auctions allow us to bring is our major speakers like the one in May (May 9th) when we have Bart Laurens from the Netherlands doing a presentation on - Dutch Aquascaping.

I hope you have a chance to visit a meeting, please come as my guest.....just ask for Roy!

BTW, annual single membership is $15 / family $20 and you can join online. Many of our LFS offer GSAS members a discount on purchases....typically 10% - 15% so you may actually pay for your membership with what you save.

Welcome and 'wagwan' from the East Coast.
Werner, a top shelf kayak paddle manufacturer makes a paddle called the 'Skagit'. Looks like there's a lot of water to paddle out your way. I bet the scenery and wildlife is pretty amazing up there.

92% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

I practice Outrigger Canoe Paddling with a Hawaiian club. There is definitely a lot of water to paddle out in the Puget Sound and various lakes around here.

Love Werner paddles! They are manufactured not far from where I live, in Snohomish County. They are my blade of choice and in fact, I've been through their manufacturing facility a few times - Top notch products, and great people!
