New plants

Just found the following plants at the lfs and couldn't resist bringing them home :

- Cabomba piauhyensis
- Eusteralis stellata

Looking through Kasselmann's reference, it says that the Cabomba doesn't do well in water above 26C (just under 79F). They are in a discus tank which is set at 29C (84F) and in the summer sometimes gets up to 30.5C (almost 87F). Anybody had any experience with it at temps above 26C?

I really like the Eusteralis as well. At the moment its pretty short and I think I'll keep it short and use it in front of other tall plants. Any tips for this plant?

Thanks!

With about 2+wpg and co2, the stella will grow big and tall. The amounts of iron/micros you dose will change the redness of the leaves assuming its over 2wpg.

Never tried cabomba at such a high temperature before. My current tank runs at 76 degrees (F) and the cabomba grew great in it. Just make sure that there's plenty of light pelting it, as it requires a lot of light (gave some to a fellow PT member and it melted away in his tanks).

Ok, thanks for the feedback.

I've got currently got 125W over a 200 liter tank (175 real volume) and CO2.

We'll see how the cabomba does. So far its growing like crazy but its too soon to tell.

Laith... The book I have says that Cabomba p. does good up to 82 degrees (28C). It also takes at least 4 WPG.
