Banana Plant Question

Do you guys cut off the lily pads? They're very unsightly to me.

Only when they start to die, then I cut them off as near the base as possible.

I've had as many as three lily pads on the surface at one time. The probelm is that the stalks are about two to three feet long and they kink when I do the water change. They eventually die. I like them.

yeah, majority of the leaves are 2-3" long and have a huge leaf, but then they shoot out this 2 feet long stem up to the top and make a lily pad. I put the lilypad in the corner of the tank so its not blocking the lighting so I'll keep it there for now.
