Congratulations! I would have a severe problem with my paycheck disappearing the day I got it. I would end up spending my whole paycheck at the fish store, hehe. Hopefully they have a good employee discount for you!

I almost got a job at a LFS but their there were a few things that turned me off. First their pay rate was garbage. I know I don't have a doctorate but I think I am worth more than $6.50/hr. Also they wanted me to work 6 days a week including every weekend. These two things were unacceptable and I passed on the job. I hope you have better luck.

Regards,
Robert

Congrats on the job! I wish when I was sixteen I took a job in something that I love no matter what the pay is. My dream as a young kid was to become a marine biologist but ended banging out fenders for twenty years. Now I have an antique business and even though the money is hot and cold I love my job because its my interest. Stick with your dreams and you will be happy. First jobs can be important.Good Luck!!

LOL, good to know that there are others which were interested in becoming a marine biologist (never happened here either )...

I did work for a LFS while I was in college (split time between the part time and an internship), which does pay a bit more than $6.50/hour. I had quite a bit more knowledge than most of the other employees and the owners. It was fun while it lasted, but there are other things way better to do. Greatest part was being able to order anything on those lists and if I saw anything I liked, I would just have to pay for them at cost and part of the shipping .

Hello everyone,

I am new to keeping Planted tanks. I have kept freshwater fish for 2 yrs and saltwater and Reef tanks for 4 yrs. I have worked for 2 fish store that were great to work for. One I was a Manager for, the other just a employee. I also cleaned Fish tanks and Ponds for a Company out here In the Desert. Now I own my own Maintance, Service, and Installation Company for Fish tank and Ponds. I hope to learn a lot over here I love to Learn new things.

Thanks,
Darrell
