Are there only two discus in the tank? That one looks considerably larger than the other. I would imagine the big guy beats up on the smaller one.

Thanks. I find I buy less fish and discus live a long time so it works out in the end.

Quite the opposite. I had two discus that were the same age for years and one of then passed away. Discus don't like to be alone so I bought the new one. They are total pals and like to hang out together. The large one is much more active now as they hunt together.

Thanks everyone for the comments. AkCrimson: by hardscape are you referring to the wood in the tank? If so it is bog hardwood. The substrate is a mix of black sand fluorite and red gravel fluorite.
