Flourite Original and Flourite Black

I noticed that each kind of flourite has a different content like different levels of copper, sodium, iron, etc. Flourite Original and Flourite Black seem to be very different as to the levels of what they contain. Is one better then the other or will they pretty much do the same thing and color is just for aesthetics??

That is the link for the content of each flourite type.

I think the main difference is aesthetic.

IME the black is much easier to rinse than the red and regular color, though. I've never used the "dark" to date.

Yeah, I've used the original before and it is filthy when rinsing! Good to here the black isn't as bad. I just wanted to make sure even though it contains different amounts of elements and minerals, etc. it would still work the same on the whole.

The most important part of Flourite is the high CEC, and all the fired clays have good CECs.

Sounds good, now do you think I should use the soil or peat first layer for a carbon source or do you think a low tech tank with flourite black would be good enough?

I'd just go with the Flourite.
