Post Bio Media

i would like to know what people think of biopeletts for a planted tank.
i have a really high phosphates leaven in my tank wand was getting white slime all over everything and a really heavy like smoke water i cleared the smoky water up with a UV system but not the phosphates even with doing heavy water changes the water going in is .5 but the reading in the tank is off the charts ! i have been using GFO in media reactors but have been reading that biopeletts will reduce phosphates and nitrates naturally? i only add ferts once a week and add liquid carbon every day along with my co2 system . i eve got rid of any carbon and only using Purigen and Renew by Seachem!

I thought I had high phosphate but it turned out I also had zero nitrate. Adding nitrate stopped the algae problem the tank had and brought phosphate levels down. Perhaps your tank is running out of of nitrate, potassium, calcium or magnesium?
