Question What is the best way to mail plants?

I am breaking down my tank and getting rid of everything. What is the best (cheapest, safest, etc) way to ship plants so they survive and don't get crushed, etc. I have never shipped any, but I have bought several (but it has been so long ago, I can't remember how people shipped them to me).

Damp newspaper then a plastic zip lock. USPS box and it's good to go.

Dilution is the solution for the pollution.

Best bet for large quantities of plants is to wrap them in paper towels and then moisten the paper towels. Place them in a ziplock and make sure there is no air when you seal it and you should be good. As for packing, depending on the distance and shipping option you may want to use styrofoam for insulation and newspaper for padding/extra insulation.

I dip paper towels in the tank water, wrap plants in them then place in zip-able sandswitch, snack or gallon bag (depending on plant size). I usually double bag to help prevent leaks. Use small flat rate shipping box (envelope/padded envelope can get plants crushed in transit) is if fits, or ship priority mail in smallest applicable package. Stuff/pad/insulate with leftover newspaper.

Due to photobuckets new bs cost for use of images on forums I have deleted all photobucket accounts. I apologize if you enjoyed or found my photos helpful.
