Hot Glue....

Hi guys,

I just put up my lava rock wall up in my 50g tank. I used a [censored][censored][censored][censored] load of hot glue, and this plastic board from home depot as the base. my concern is toward the plastic of the board and hot glue, will they mess up my fish eco system?

As far as I know, once cured the hot glue is safe for the aquarium.

Silicone is ideal but I'm sure hot glue wouldn't hurt

Hot glue can break down. I've never heard of it harming fish, but it may come unattached and float off. That's the most likely thing to happen. I have heard it is aquarium safe also.

I have had hot glue and rock separating in water; but as long as it forms a base for the rock and you don't move it - it will do its job of spreading the weight.

If you have a choice, you have a problem, till you elect your choice. No choice, no problem, only consequences, learn to live with them.
