I need help with Glosso

I planted my glosso 5 days ago and it has really been doing well, it is growing new leaves and spreading quickly. The only issue is that it is growing upward, i have a ray2 on a 55g, so i know it is not a light issue, i have flow near it, i see the leaves wiggle from the flow, and i have co2 to the point where the drop checker is almost yellow. I think that i planted it wrong so it is now growing upward, i dont have any tools at my disposal other than a pair of tweezers, i am planting in eco complete. How can i re-plant so it grows as a carpet??

Glosso can be a pain. It sounds like you have your lighting, fertz, and CO2 dialed in correctly. I've had to weigh glosso down when it starts to grow leggy and upward. I've used really small stones and/or a trimmed down lead weight strap thingy that stem plants come wrapped in. Place the weight where the stems are the longest. Eventually the roots will take hold and your carpet will really take off.

do a search. You have to plant them a certain way. One leaf node only.

You'd be supprised how much light glosso needs to grow carpet. Id suggest you don't have enough... My 4" tank has 3 x A360W Kessils plus 3 x LED 6500K fittings. Only then would it grow like carpet.

I have read that glosso doesnt need as much light as being planted correctly and with good circulation to carpet

I would respectfully suggest you have heard wrong. It is an Australian plant and requires very high light to carpet effectively. With high light i just stuff a bunch in the substrate and then it grows with little or no stem, just leaves out of the surface and spreads tightly.

That should be fine, but it is also about intensity.

Lumens.

The plant can have sufficient photosynthetic active radiation at lower intensit (lumnes) however lumens can induce growth characteristics such as laggy growth where low, or short carpet growth where high.

I think I am going to let the stems grow like they are until they develop, roots, then I am going to replant them and see how it goes, I have some staurogyne Porto velho if the glosso doesn't work out

The fact that it's growing is a good sign that you probably have enough light.

Start it out like this
