Weird creatures in aquarium

So I got an order today of snails in the mail, and some how these weird little creatures were with them... They are crawling all over my substrate. Anybody have any idea what they are? They're tiny, clear and small. I don't know if they were hitchhiking on the snails though or what because I didn't put the water from the place in my tank.

sorry this pic was the best I could do

They are definitely small scuds/shrimp. I've read numerous different things regarding whether their harmful or not so I'm not sure what to think!

Gammarus, common name scud. It's a detritivore, eats leftovers and harmless.

If you have shrimp that breed though, it may compete with the baby shrimp for food.
