How much is this setup worth?

Hi!

I received this 20 gallon long tank from a friend who was moving and because of space issues, but I now have to sell it but I have no idea how much the setup is worth. The tank has a large stand, top with fluorescent tube lights, a glass top, heater, Eheim 2213 filter, and water siphon tube. The inside is completely set up with gravel, two large rocks, a nice piece of wood, some plants, and some fish ( 1 pleco, maybe 10-15 baby guppies, a goby, and two Amano shrimp)

How much should I be asking for the whole setup? If it makes a difference, I'm in the San Diego area

Thanks!

I'd say be happy with $50 and take the first offer even if it's less. If you need to sell it, you need to sell it. Turn an offer down and then you really need to sell it and will have to take anything.

$50 seems low, but then again I personally wouldn't offer much more unless it was exactly what I was looking for.

Maybe part it out?

Yeah, $50 seems a bit low to me considering that that appears to be the going price for just the filter alone

The setup minus the filter would bring $30-40 in my area. The filter would bring another $40-50 assuming it's in good condition, but you'd all but certainly have to part it out from the rest of the setup to get that price. The value for the filter on its own is going to be higher than the value of the filter in a package deal with the tank/stand/fish/etc.

Less than $100.
My brother got a 75gallon, stand, fluval canister, gravel, hood and light for $100 on Craigslist.

You have a nice tank, but it's not going to sell for much.

For the little you'll get, you might be better giving it away. Perhaps, make the deal where they come and get it, and do the tear down and move.

i could see the tank going for like what $10 and the stand for $40 with the top so i say $50 seems about right in my eyes.

I think it might be possible to get $50 for everything, but it is unlikely that you will find someone who wants it badly enough to pay more. Many people wouldn't like the stand. Most people would want a different light. The plants and fish might have to be given away to whoever will accept them. Used tank set-ups rarely sell for what they appear to be worth, in my experience.
