Where can I buy clay media for a riparium?

I was wondering where I can buy or get clay media for a riparian basket? I am just getting into riparium baskets and don't know where I can get them.

Also, Why is this particular type of media used?

Thanks!!

Start in the Want To Buy section of the forum if you want to ask for someone to sell to you. Check the For Sale section - use the search function - to see what's available. Also check forum sponsors.

It may be worth considering crushed lava rock, Turface and similar substrates or regular aquarium gravel.

It's often used because it's easy to spot fertilize (say, with root tabs) and because it's relatively clean and doesn't break down easily.

Look into aquaponic or hydroponic supplies.
