I'm pretty new to planted tanks, but have found my 8 gal way too small, and these two will fit my space.
I really like the self contained kits, however they do seem pricey.
Any idea if these are decent tanks, AND very importantly do the lights seem decent for a planted tank? Since they are built in and seem expensive I'd need them to actually work!

Thanks if you have time to take a look.

A select number of websites will be removed it you link them in any way. With that said, I know of plenty of people into SW that love their BioCube. It's an all-in-one, which is nice for aesthetics, but can be a bit of a pain at times if you need extra equipment for your planted tank. The lights on the BioCube are geared more towards coral growth, although I'm fairly sure you can changed the lamps out. That'll just cost more money.
Personally I'd just go with a typical glass cube tank and add features I'd want. That way I wouldn't get stuck with extra parts, having to pay to replace them for something I wanted anyways.

Ah ha, makes sense.
Yes I didn't want to replace lights. I had hoped they would be plenty sufficient but the ad doesn't say much and I've got a lot to learn re lighting.
Thanks!
