New tank

Ok. So I "built" a 4 and 6 gallon aquarium. Well I divided a 10 into 2 parts purposely uneven.

I want one side to be aquatic and one semi-aquatic. I was thinking of going animal-less for once. How often are water changes necessary on a tank without animals?

Also, I was thinking on the semi-aquatic side (the smaller side), maybe I will add a layer of peat moss on top of my sand. I think I'll still get 2 mini filters just to keep at the bottom for each side, and maybe a mini 70 gph water circulator for the aquatic side and a CO2 injection too.

Is this like a totally stupid idea? I have a nice light I want to utilize.

Let me know what you guys think.

It's defiantly NOT a stupid idea if that's what you want out of the tank. No harm in trying something different.

A few things to consider-

Use a razor blade and clean up the silicone as much as possible. You want something like this to look good.

While there is nothing wrong with not keeping any fish or similar livestock in the tank, you might want to put something in so the "unbelievers", that is non-aquarium people, will have something to look at.

Good luck

I already have 3 planted aquariums. I'm doing this for fun. How often should I do water changes?
