Where to put Purigen in AquaClear 30 HOB

So I picked up some Purigen and I'm trying to determine where is best to place it in my AC30. Right now I've got the Fluval sponge on the bottom, followed by some fine filter floss and the ceramic rings on top. Common sense tells me to put it under the ceramic rings so they stay on top and stay the cleanest/get the most oxygen. However putting the Purigen under the rings causes the ceramics to not be 100% submerged. Any ideas?

The media should go from mechanical --> biological --> Purigen, so the order from bottom to top is sponge, then ceramic rings, then Purigen.

Submerging the rings is fine. These are fully aquatic bacteria. The difference in oxygen level between the layers is minimal.

I run purigen in an ac50. Foam block, then purigen, then a mesh bag of matrix.

Oh yeah I know the bacteria can be fully submerged. My concern was with the Purigen under the ceramic rings the ceramic rings weren't fully submerged.
