Do my eyes mistake me what!?

Hey guys!
I was browsing on eBay for some plants or shrimp and I saw something that just BLEW MY MIND!
SOMEONE IS SELLING HAIR ALGAE FOR $5.00 FOR A GOLF BALL SIZED PORTION and like 21 people are watching!
I used to pull this stuff from my tank and just toss it! Is this stuff actually worth selling or buying? Why would anyone want to buy hair algae?
THANKS!

No! It was actually for hair algae. There were 3 or 4 listings. It looks like someone is trying to sell it as snail food.

Marimo IS hair algae, its just a specialized slow growing form of hair algae. Not the same stuff as the fast growing pest hair algae we get when lighting it too strong/on too long.

I recall seeing someone post about a sale/auction for planaria this past winter... people will try to sell anything, never underestimate the stupidity of people.

Due to photobuckets new bs cost for use of images on forums I have deleted all photobucket accounts. I apologize if you enjoyed or found my photos helpful.

Only time I've ever had hair algae is after I treated the fish for ich and used sea mix instead of salt. SOMEthing in there acts like miracle grow for the stuff.

My mind is aglow with trancient nodes of thought, careening through a cosmic vapor of invention - Hedley Lamar
