Plant Question when adding Gravel

Hello All-

So I started my first dirted tank last September. I was unsure on how much gravel cap to use and didn't use enough. I am constantly fighting soil seepage through the gravel cap. So today I decided to add about another 1/2" of gravel cap.

My question is do i need to pull my plants up a half inch or will they be fine and continue to grow just a little further down in the substrate?

Species list

Amazon Sword
Dwarf Sag
Crypt sp.
Jungle Val
and new Red Tiger Lotus

(i have some rhizome species but i know they need to be pulled up to prevent rot)

Thanks for your help.

A rather full size Sword likely won't matter to add 1/2". The DS you should pull it up a bit once you add the gravel. Same for the Crypt. Jungle val is picky about being just right
so do pull that up after. Don't have a clue on the Lotus.

The shortest distance between any two points is a straight the opposite direction...

That's kinda what I figured but If i didn't have to disturb the roots I wasn't going to.
