Thinking about switching over to E.I. Fertilization
I am currently thinking about switching over to E.I. from PPS-Pro. The reason is that I think that my plants demand more fertilizer than what I am currently feeding them, plus I have a little GSA on the glass and some hair algae. Tom Barr once told me that it takes the guessing away when fertilizing your tank--that all I would have to fiddle with is mainly CO2 and lighting. I don't mind doing large water changes...my only worry is about algae. I'd probably have to adjust the CO2 a tinge, but that's not a big issue (I have many fast growing plants in my tank such as Ludwigia repens and Rotala rotundifolia). I looked into "The Method of Controlled Imbalances" fertilizing regime as well, but it just made my head spin, and it looked like it'd take the fun out of this hobby a little bit. I have a duel T5 HO light that gives out a PAR of 70 or a little bit above or below that, plus I have pressurized CO2 running at the moment. What do you all think? Should I switch? Has E.I. been good for you? Plus, if you switched over from PPS-Pro to E.I., please let me know what the effects were. Thanks!
