Can you tell me how to clean...

...glassware for use as a tank?

I have an old brandy snifter that I want to use as a waystation of sorts. It's been a cupboard for years, and looks kind of dirty. I don't know what was in it last. I want to make sure that it isn't going to kill whatever I may put in there.

Ive always had good luck cleaning tanks with vinegar and water. Clean out with a 50/50 mix then rinse a few times and your set. Ive used that to clean everything from new tanks, to old ones that were once used for hampsters.
