Swagelok Needle Valve doesn't fit 1/4npt Need Help!

I ordered these two metering valves off eBay but they don't fit standard parts here in usa.

Here's the valve:

Here's a close up of the "lip" just before the threads:

Here I demonstrate the "lip" stopping me from threading the 1/4npt elbow on the valve:

This is as far as it will go:

Any ideas?

That's 1/4 vcr. Not compatible with npt. Those are actually vacuum fittings that use a face seal gasket to make seal.

Thank you. At least I've now identified the part!

Will it work for co2 injection?

If, so where do I find parts to fit it in?

You'll also need the gaskets.

I think I have a 1/4 mnpt x 1/4 fvcr adapter laying around. They're pricey, I think I paid $27 for it. The vcr fittings get pricey and are bulky compared to normal stuff. Anyhow if you want it, it'll be $4 cheaper through me lol.

You'll need a 1/4 fvcr x 1/8 tube adapter for the other side as well in order to hook up your co2 tubing.

I paid $55.64 for both of these. Do you think it worth using or selling these...

They seem like more of a hassle and expensive parts.

In lieu of these, I ordered x2 Fabco nv-55-18.

I'd sell them, you're going to pay more than that in fittings just to be able to use them. They're going to be a tough sell most likely imo.

Swagelok parts have a proprietary threading. You can't use "over the counter" parts from places like HD, Lws or like places. The intermediate parts have to be genuine parts and connectors. If you get the right materials you will have a metering valve to rival many others. Swagelok is like Benz, you can only use Benz parts on a Benz, unlike Honda/Acura, they are cross compatible (brass, stainless) so on...it's worth the money spent in the end. Good luck!
