Would 2 150W mh work on a 120g tank

Would two of these http://www.jbjlighting.com/sys_k2_viper.html work on my 120g tank? I think they will, and i'm in the process of buying them but i need some advice!

Thanks
Jonathan/SeaSerpant

How long is your tank? 6 feet?

Personally, I think the spread on those Vipers are horrible. I doubt they'd cover a 6 foot tank without large dark spots.

I love these questions. Its like asking somebody "Hey I have to mail something tomorrow, should I ship it in 4' square box?" Are we mind readers?

FWIW, any lights will work. The real question is, what are your plans?
What are you planting? Do you have CO2? Do you plan on dosing?? etc. etc. etc.

If you run MH lighting without CO2, you'll have an algae farm.

i guess i'll have to be ready for that. I might want to go out and buy some flourish excel so that when it does come i'll be ready for it I hope to buy a CO2 canister after the lights. Anybody have a site that might inform me on that?

Thanks

I would go with T5HO's or CF's.

Well i would, but i wanted to go cheaper and still get the same results. (even though the lights are for sw). I was looking into CF and that kind of thing and the prices i got were 700$ for everything. and these together that i am buying are 300$.

Thanks

You should get a Fish Needit light or Catalina T5HO lighting. You should be able to get 48" lighting 4x54 for around $200 shipped. suspend it 6" or so above the tank and you should have the ends fairly well covered.
