How long does CO2 last?

I've been considering getting presurrized CO2 for a while now for my 46g 1.8wpg T5 heavily planted tank.

One question though.

If I were to do 1 bubble a second or less during the day, and turn it off completely at night, how long would a 10 pound cylinder last approximately? How long do you usually go before you have to refil those things?

Thanks!

I got about 3 months out of my 5lb @ 3+ bps so I would bet a 10lb @ 1 bps would last 6 months or more.

The problem is that one bbs or less for a 46 gallon tank isn't enough, given your high light intensity. At a more realistic 3 bbs, my 5 pound tank lasts about 2 months. (Of course when it comes to bubble rates faster than 1 bbs, we can only guess at the rate - no one has good enough eyes to measure 3 bbs, in my opinion.)

Ok, well either way then it would be safe to say it will last a few months.

Thats good news for me! I thought CO2 only lasted a few weeks. Huh. This is starting to seem a lot more realistic now!

My 5# bottle was filled around Oct/Nov and it's still going. I have no idea of the bps cause they come out to fast to count.

my tank has lasted a year. I think it is a 5 pound tank...but I had the bps turned waaaay tooooo low....now I am up to about 3-5 per second...it will probably drain within the next few weeks.

My 10lb tank lasts a year and a half, my regulator isn't good so the bubble rate is eradic.
