Cool Purchasing Plants On-Line

I'm new to having live plants in my tank, its 55 gal., and was wondering if someone can recommend where, on line I could aquire plants? My first attempt was thru Freshwater Aquarium Plants and I'm not having a very good experience. Thanks

The Swap and Shop here is probably the best place.

X2. If you can't find what your looking for, just ask for it there. Chances are, within a day someone will respond that has it.

When I am doing a complete new tank I use AquariumPlants.com. Don't email them, call them. They can be terrible about email but their service and plants are excellent.

When I am looking for a smaller quanity, I use the swap and shop.

Hint - turn off the caps and large print, it isn't necessary.

x2 On aquariumplants.com

I recently stocked my entire 75 gal with plants from them and am very pleased with the quality of the plants I received. Bugman is right though, it's not wotrh the shipping costs to buy through them if you're not getting a whole bunch of plants.

I like sweetaquatics.com. They have a great selection of quality plants and offer free shipping on orders over $35.

I like all caps and large print, that way I can read the posts from across the room. It allows me to browse the forum and do house work at the same time. I wish everyone would do it.

Much appreciated. Caldwell is outside Boise correct? I think I worked on an elementary school there a few years ago.

Oh and I forgot, I completely set up my tank with plants from the Swap and Shop.

X2 everything in my tank is from sweet aquatics. They are about 20 mins away from me so I get to hand pick everything when I pick up my plants.

Great luck with aquariumplants.com here also. I always just use their web store, no problems at all.

X4 at aquariumplants.com although it seems they must be growing most everything emmersed. almost everything iv'e bought from them changed its growth appearance after a month or two.

also i was happy with the quality from dr fosters and dr smith. not a huge selection but they arrived in nice condition.

only real bad experience iv'e had was from arizona aquatic gardens. them guys are just crooks. one other popular online supplier i was also less than impressed with the quality of the plants that arrived. it was my first purchase from them and mid summer so i will give them the benefit of doubt.

A note about freshwateraquariumplants.com. This a small company and they have a limited staff so they are not always available to answer phone calls during the day. I have ordered from them several times, If you email or call and leave you phone number they WILL call you back. Just have a little patience. They are very good people and supply some of the best looking plants you will see. They grow everything they sell and do not buy from other growers like many other business do.

Other than them, the only other place I have gotten plants is on forums

I have had good success with www.aquariumgarden.com. I've gotten very nice plants from them at good prices (but no free shipping).
