Stupid heater question

This may be a dumb question but is it okay to have the heads of the jager heaters out of the water? Just the top plastic part -- and even its 25% covered. I figured as long as all the glass was under water I was fine but just wanted to check.

Yes it is fine, but being lower is better. It is less noticeable and will heat more efficiently.

Obsession is a matter of opinion

Awesome. I have mine in my sump and rearranged it a little. Both of my heaters are are just poking above water.

It's fine. If you look at the bottom of the plastic housing, there's a "minimum water" mark.
