If you had to pick just one plant to have in your tank what would it be, and why ?

I did that once... amazon sword (e. bleherii) in a 125g goldfish tank. I had 8 big ones in a line under really low light and a gravel substrate.

The simplicity of it with the large mature common and comet goldfish was mesmerizing.

I might do it again someday.

Limnophila aromatic - grows very well and the coloring is great. I really like the bushiness of it as well.

Hygrophila polysperma... and if you aren't diligent with the pruning, it may be the only plant in there.

Anubias nana probably. Bolder texture than the other contender Bolbitis. Have to have something that can grow on hardscape I think. Have to have a scape where fish can swim around and through.

Probably Ranunculus inundatus. It's an absolutely beautiful species with a unique leaf shape. I wish more people kept it.
