Super bubbly tank - guess why?

It looks like a winter wonderland with bubbles instead of snow.

Any guesses why?

Usually happens when you fill up an aquarium for the first time or when you do a water change. Have you done any of those?

Nope, this tank has been going several years. High light, CO2 injected, EI dosed. I haven't seen it this bubbly since Day 1, as you alluded to. Last water change was Sunday.

New bulbs? Change to Co2?

Looks nice either way.

Oops, you accidentally used sprite instead of water for your water change.

It does look like club soda or H2O2, doesn't it? But, no.

Bulbs were changed a few weeks ago.

I noticed this just after discovering the empty CO2 tank. I'd suspect it was the dreaded End of Tank Dump but this is a dual stage regulator and the fish weren't affected.
