Let's Talk About Marfied Controsoil!

Let's talk about Marfied Controsoil.

Has anyone tried this stuff yet?

Amazon sells it for $45/bag.

I was lucky enough to trade some plants for a couple handfuls from a local hobbyist.

Looks like it costs more than aqua soil by quite a bit. Interested to hear about it though.

Edit: Found an older thread of someone reviewing it. Sounds good except for the price: https://www.plantedtank.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=135236

No shipping charge and Controsoil is 10 liter bags, not 9. Aqua Soil has a big shipping charge so the amount of Controsoil I would need for my big tank would be all of $10 less than AS.

Marfied Controsoil definitely costs less than ADA Aquasoil.

I didn't realize Controsoil has been around that long. I thought it was something fairly new (I'll adjust the title of this thread accordingly). I wonder why it hasn't become more popular...

I've heard that it releases 0 ammonia into the water which is always an issue with Aquasoil.

I just ordered a bag last night. Will be interested to hear other opinions/results and I'll try and share my own as well.

It's only not popular because no one has importing it. I remember someone out of the country saying it broke down faster then AS. My memory sucks though.

Well I guess I should be more clear. Aquasoil is cheaper for me. I live 30 minutes away from AFA.

Let us know how that turns out bk.

I got an email from controsoil today to tell me that my order was being shipped from their distribution center in Carson, CA. Don't know if that's close to you or now but thought you might be interested to know.

Will you be doing a journal on the tank with controsoil? Carson is all the way south but, Aquasoil is only $30 for a 9L bag at the local fish store.

While this may be true for you, it's not for most of us. I sure wish my LFS sold Aquasoil for $30/bag that's a great price.
