Well, my guess would be severe nutrient deficiency. I'm guessing those are stem plants? One looks like maybe Ludwigia repens, or something of that nature? Perhaps trying EI dosing rather than strictly root tabs might help.

I'm no expert, though, so hopefully more knowledgeable persons will chime in as well.

Happening to mine, I believe I have a major phosphate deficiency. I am starting up 1/2 EI dosing for my med/low tech and will see how that helps my stems. They all stink now, but they were growing great prior to a green water outbreak that may have used up all my phosphates.

IME, My Ludwigia Repens will shed leaves and start melting if my tank is Co2 deficient. I finally found that out recently... I thought it was nutrients at first and started double dosing E.I with no changes. I decided to cranked up the Co2, and bingo! they are now growing way too fast and older leaves at the bottom that get less light don't die and fall off.

Im going to tenatively agree with Vin. I had yucky stems on my repens. I increased my ferts but that didnt help. So i added a second bottle to my diy co2 and they are starting to improve
