Painting aquarium trim

So has anybody on here ever tried painting the trim of the aquarium a different color? I found a tank I might be interested in on craigslist except for the trim of it is the pine wood color or whatever. not really a fan of it.

I've done it with a 20 long I got for free . Great tank except all my tanks are black rimmed and this one was 'oak' . So I lightly sanded the trim with something like 320 paper , masked everything off with blue painters tape and newspaper and hit the trim with some Krylon Fusion. Took care of any overspray with a kitchen Scotchbrite after everything dries . Been a few years , no problems . Matches the other tanks pretty well .
