Compliment Denison Barbs

I have a "Dutch" style 125g with 8 large Roseline Sharks. What other fish compliment and are compatible with Denison Barbs?

Any thoughts?

Boesemani Rainbow fish I think blue and yellow would look good with your roselines. Any of the colorful rainbow fish would be cool.

I've always thought my rummy nose went best with my roselines.
Sort of miniature version from across the room.
I love my roselines(all 12) in my 180g.One of the greatest all time fish IMO!

Research their optimum water preferences: They come from subtropical rivers, with a very wide range of temperature. On the cooler side of tropical, to fairly warm. Somewhat softer rather than too hard, but certainly not a black water fish.

Then research these fish, see how close you come to finding compatible fish:

Here are some cooler water options. These would be fine in something close to a room temperature (low 70s F) tank, just a little heat:
Turquoise Rainbows (M. lacustris)
Sturisoma, Farlowella, Rhineloricaria, Bristlenose (Ancistrus) (Many Loricariads thrive in cool water- just gotta figure out which one you want)
Pethia conchonius (used to be Puntius) and many other Barbs are cool water fish, if you want a second school in there.
Almost all Corydoras- get a big enough school!
Dojo Loach (Misgurnus anguillicaudatus)
Zebra Loach (Botia striata)
Blue (Three-spot) Gourami (several color morphs) Trichopodus trichopterus (old name: Trichogaster)

Many of those will handle a warmer tank, too. However, here is a similar list of warmer tank fish:
Boesemani Rainbows
Sturisoma nigrirostrum, Relatives of the Bristlenose (Ancistrus) (Many Loricariads thrive in warm water- just gotta figure out which one you want)
Congo Tetra (Phenacogrammus interruptus) and many other Tetras are warm water fish, if you want a second school in there.
Selected Corydoras and related fish- Brochis splendens is one- get a big enough school!
Yoyo Loach (Botia almorhae)
Zebra Loach (Botia striata)
Pearl Gourami (Trichopodus leerii (old name: Trichogaster)

All good suggestions! I'm looking into rainbows but I'm afraid they don't schoal as much as I'd like... Time to research! I'll look into each suggestion. Thank you.

I have Turquoise rainbows and Tiger barbs with my denisons.

I really like the turquoise rainbows, but like you suggested, they don't school that much (I have 7 of them currently). I really like the color contrast between the denisons and rainbows.

The tiger barbs are great with the denisons, and they school well. They're kind of overdone, but I really like them.

You could try and find some gold barbs or maybe diamond tetras. They would contrast well with the Denisons.
