Too Cold or Too Hot?

I have the fluval nano shrimp tank, and should have read more about it before setting it up. Right now the fish are in a Rubbermaid bin with some old decorations, the plants in a bucket with the lights shining bright on them, and the background to my tank drying. I will be able to add water Sunday.

I moved the fish Thurs night and let the tank dry before I went to silicone the background. Since the Rubbermaid bin is in my basement, I added an old heater.

It's a Tetra 100W preset heater. Fri AM, the marina digital thermometer was reading 90! Unhook the heater, temperature drops. I add my nano heater, and Sat morning the temperature was a chilly 69.

So 1 more night before I can move the fish back to their home. would the addition of an airpump with the nano heater help move the water around?

Bin is 18 Gallons. Thurs night I covered it with 2 old canopies, Fri night I made sure a larger hole was open for air and a lid was up.
