Pet Supplies Plus $1/gallon

Just a heads up Pet Supplies plus is having their $1/gallon sale. And yes. It is the Aqueon tanks we all know and love. Might get another 10 to replace the tetra I have and use the glass from that for lids.

Awesome! I was gonna pick up a 20L and this store's actually a lot more convenient too.

I need some second hand glass as Petco keeps selling out of the 40g breeders. Unfortunately I don't have room for more 40g setups and I am not up to replacing the 40g Tetras I do have setup in favor of the Aqueons. I at least got (4) Aqueons prior to the switch though. Now if I accidentally tapped on the glass to hard with my sledge hammer, at least I know that I can go to PSP, lol

This is awesome. I just wish they had 40 breeder tanks.

Is that for every store or is it based on location/region. I know some Petco's have a few different size tanks that all stores don't carry during their $1 sale.

Thanks for the heads up!

After having no problems drilling the previous Aqueons I bought at Petcos DPG sale, I tried to do the same with the Tetra tank I bought a previous DPG sale and ....Ooops KahRRack!

So I am definately call the two Pet Supplies Plus near me before I make the drive.

I honestly don't know. There aren't really any of these stores in my area besides the one that's like 5 minutes away from me.

I didn't find it difficult drilling my Tetras. It all depend on the process you used. I drilled (8) $1 sale tanks last summer. (4) Aqueons and (4) Tetras. Each tank got (3) holes each on the back pane for Bean Animal over flows. I also used a drill press with plumber's putty berms for water cooling. I did crack my very last Tetra tank on my second to last hole though. I rushed the press and pushed a tad bit to hard. This was my fault completely. I went out and got another tank the next day, proceeded with the drilling with no issues. I used the same drill bit on all the tanks from beginning to end. Drill bit still cuts fine currently as I used it to cut holes in my 90g for a Bean Animal as well. It's all in the process. Sure the glass is 1/16" thinner but you compensate for this by really allowing the bit to do the work 100%.

Just recently I drilled a 1.5 hole in one end of a 20g long (which is only 12" wide) from the latest $1 sale. I used my cordless this time. It took a lot longer than the drill press but no issue drilling it either.

Went over to PSP today... and they had 10, 20H, 20L, 29 and 55 gallon Aqueon tanks for the dollar per gallon sale. It's really too bad they don't have the 40 breeders. But regardless I did pick up a Tetra 40 breeder from Petco today. I tried to find the one with the cleanest silicone job and hopefully I won't run into any issues. I could always put some more silicone on it if I need to.

Only bummer about Tetra branded 40 gallon tanks is the trim on it is HUGE.
