If you're building the tank from scratch, instead of a reseal I would go with RTV 103 or RTV 108. Of course it depends on what you mean by "building"; If the glass panels are cut but not assembled then I would go with the RTV series because you'll need to add some of it to the glass before you assemble them together, this is because you want to get a full inside seal of the glass for assembling the glass together. Then let it cure for 2 days, then you want to do the seals for the glass edges like if you look at a manufactured aquarium you'll see that they silicone between the glass pieces for a stronger bond, then once they assemble the tank and add the frames they go back through and silicone the the aquarium corner seams.

basically what i am doing is i full blown diy build from scratch. I ordered low iron glass with a flat polish and it should be in on the 25th so not this sunday but the following. I will start by putting the tank together with 90* clamps on the the corners to make sure it is perfectly square and what not. Next i am going to put zip ties in between the panes of the and use pipe clamps to insure that the thickness does not change from side to side and then i will put a couple small tacks in just enough to hold the aquarium together and then finally after that dries i will be sealing the whole tank. Here is the set of videos that demonstrate what im pretty much going to do.

Kzeller is the one who helped me fingure out how i am going to be putting the tank together.

Yep just as I explained it, but using a ziptie as a spacer is good idea, and notice he's using the RTV103 black silicone lol

Sounds like you got a plan for it, I say make a video as you go along throughout the process of building the tank so we can see what's going on!!!!!!

I personally think tanks with black silicone look so much better than tanks with clear silicone, it just makes them look more unique you know.

I have never thought about using black silicone before so i think i will try using the black silicone on my 50gallon tank that i just took town to reseal so that i can do a test run of the new method and also so i can see if i like the black silicone better =) I will make a test run video and also a video of 60gallon tank build! If i am un able to make a video of me doing the tank i will for sure use a camera instead! Im stoked on the new method seems so much easier!!!!
