Jobes House Plant Fertilizer sticks for substrate?

I was wondering if anyone has used Jobes House Plant Fertilizer Sticks as a fertilizer for root plants in the planted aquarium. If so, what were the results, was it good or bad, would you recommend it? Thanks!

I would use the jobes for ferns and palms instead if you are going that route. Better ratio..less phosphorus. What I would do intead, though, is PM off-ice.. a member of Plantgeeks.com amongst other boards... and see about getting his root fertilizer tablets. I think they're $1 for 12. Jobe spikes will keep some plants alive, but in my opinion, they're too simplistic to promote the growth so many of us seek. I've used off-ice's homemade tablets, seachems tablets, jobes for ferns and palms,Aquarium Pharmacuetical's tablets, and jobes for household plants, and that is in order from best growth and results to worse growth and results, in my experience.

Yes I have used them as a supplementary ferts.they are fine ,just make sure you press them deep enough so they don't dissolve too Early.
The ones I use :13-4-5.
13=N 13%
4=P2O5 4%
5=potash (K2O)5%

I had a similar question as the topic starter. I just PM'd off-ice and will see if he has any in stock. One per plant correct?

Thanks for the tip.

they have 2% urea nitrogen
ammonia (ammonium nitrate)
they work but if you disturb the substrate and it enters the water colum you may get algae.
