Inspiration

I took this photo last summer while canoeing. It gave me inspiration to get back into keeping a planted tank again and reminds that nobody can aquascape like mother nature.
The photo also won first prize in a local photography contest/show in the photographers choice category.


33 gallon tall, LIGHT: 24W t5HO (6400K), 24W t5HO (6700)
FILTER: Fluval 206 and a small powerhead 100gph
SUBSTRATE: Eco Complete & sand.
WATER: pH: 7.5, GH: 10.7, KH: 7.
PLANTS: micro sword, ludwigia repens, amazon sword, java fern, rotala indica, annubias, baby tears, wisteria, staurogyne repens.
FISH: 2 corys, 3 otos, 2 shrimp, 2 guppies 2 dwarf gouramis.
DOSING Seachem Flourish products according to instructions, (for now)

That is a really cool picture. I kayak and canoe alot here in florida and rarely see anything this good. Nice job on the shot. If you dont mind me asking what camera did you use.

Thanks. I shot this with a Canon 7D camera and a 300mm f4.0 lens. Normally I shoot bird photos in the ponds but these old tree stumps always catch my eye and I can't resist shooting them.

flora -- vals, swords, crinum, anubias, crypts, red ludwigia, java fern, java moss, red tiger lotus, and some red purplish plant.
