load of aquascaping questions

I am planning to make something similar to this https://www.google.com/search?q=aqua...F%3B1000%3B600

but instead I am going add lots of tall background plants which I need suggestions. I need colorful background plants that go well together. I am switching into a high tech since I've been taking care of low tech for a while.

You linked aquascape trees.
Some kind of moss (usually), attached to driftwood.

These are pretty much always showcased with low plants, to show off the tree.

To plant a lot of assorted tall stems defeats the idea.

Yep, just as Diana pointed out having large background plants defeats the idea and also the scale of the scale. Best way to add dynamic to the scope is to add a hill using the substrate and not have a flat scape
