Question what is this? (pic)

So what is this?
I saw this today on my rock. It's like a little white fluff blowing around on my rock... should I be concerned?
It's a new tank, about 5 days in so far.

That's quite odd. Looks like the fungus that grows on freshly added driftwood, it should not grow on non plant matter O.o
Do you know what type of rock that is? Whats its mineral make up?
Personally I'd remove it, if it was on driftwood I'd say "don't worry, its ugly as hell but supposed goes away." (still waiting for mine to)

Due to photobuckets new bs cost for use of images on forums I have deleted all photobucket accounts. I apologize if you enjoyed or found my photos helpful.

I had the exact same thing in my tank a couple weeks ago, around the same time frame as your tank. Consensus from the forum was that it was some type harmless bacteria. I had two little pieces of it appear in my tanks first week and I simply removed them during water change and I haven't had any issues since.

i don't know the type of rock, but I got it from a stone center nearby. I did bleach them and then soak in prime water prior to going in tank though. Hopefully it's nothing bad.

Hopefully it's nothing to be too concerned about. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out!

No harm!!
Even though you did do it right and sterilize things before adding to the tank, the air is full of stuff. Even your hands have unknown/unnamed stuff on them so when you place the rocks it will have stuff on the surface. Some of that stuff will just be waiting around for exactly the right conditions to spring to life. But those conditions are not likely to last long and it will be gone just like a fish out of water.
Ugly or just another thing we don't see often like a rainbow?

It's bacteria- the good ones, digesting something organic. It's a good sign you have healthy bacteria in the water. Nothing at all to be alarmed about. If you don't like it, then suck ot out, but you take some colonized bacteria with it.
