am interested in dirt substrate. just set up a 55 gallon tank and opted for eco- complete based on top google negative review. site purchase reviews are overwhelmingly positive. have purchased many plants for five aquariums from site and happy. what are your thoughts?

Good start. I also started that way. However, I made a mistake of introducing pressurized CO2 & light a little late and all my plants died for the first time. Then I got a lot of plants...I mean a lot and just filled the entire substrate with the plants, cranked up the CO2 to around 12-15 bps and kept the lights on for 6 hrs. It helped a lot to stabilize the tank. after around 3 weeks, i introduced the fish.
