dutch build my led cautionary tale

have struggled with black algae since started high tech aquariums a couple years ago. cranked co2 up to 90 ppm by ph / hardness test and still problematic (co2 indicator way into yellow). i have build my led dutch lights. purchased dimmer with lights but never dimmed below 60% based on high par reference values suggested online for growing high light plants like dwarf baby tears- 80 plus par. someone on this forum suggested dimming lights further- it worked. i originally discounted the idea of dimming lights further based on the par values provided by build my led and suggested requirements for high light plants. my 20 gallon tank is now black algae free at @ 52% dimmer setting, co2 at normal level and plants are thriving. build my led lights are great but powerful so be forewarned.
