planted show (tall) tanks

I hear its not good to use a show tank for plants because the distance between from top and bottom requires too much light. I wanted to convert my 75g tall bicher tank to planted but want to make sure its feasible first. Opinions?

How tall is tall? Unless the tank is a really strange dimension (taller than it is long), or really huge, it won't matter that much.

T5HO lighting can easily supply lots of light further than 30" down to the substrate from what i have been reading.

I have a Fluval Osaka which is pretty tall tank (25in) and I have no problem. My plants are actually going crazy and I'm only running 48w of T5HO over 34 gallons...

This is about 2 weeks ago. I had to trim my Hygro last night because it was forming a canopy and the rest of the plants were losing light...

I love the look of that Osaka setup. You've done a very good job aquascaping it.

I have a 40 tall and it's growing anubias fine with 28 watts of T-5 and 20 watts of T-8. It's 30 inches tall, and most of the anubias are on the ground.

65 gallon low tech planted

Thanks!! I just got it about a month ago. I love the tank! It's nice to look at and comes with all the right equipment.
