Need help on uprooting plants.

Hey guys i have a melon sword and some amazon sword and i wanna remove them but my melon sword's root is damn long, so can i just cut the plant from the root and can i just let the whole root stay under the substrate? Because if i will try to remove the whole root than my all other plants will get disturbed. So can i just let the root of my swords stay under the substrate?

It will probably grow back if you leave the roots in

I don't think it could grow back from the roots, but I may be wrong.

Cut the roots as far out as you can so it doesn't disturb the plant as much, but yeah that should be fine.

I've done the same with amazon swords. I assume the results would be the same. Just pull it up far enough leaving an inch or so of roots and cut them. We all trim roots when planting. I see no difference here.

Alright thanks guys for clearing my doubt. I am about to rescape and these sword's roots were bothering me. I'll pull out as much as I can then I'll cut the root and bury it under the substrate.
